Description
Description

The Irish Terrier is a dog breed from Ireland, and it is considered one of the oldest terrier breeds. They were initially bred for their working qualities and instincts as a vermin killer. They are powerfully built without appearing sturdy or heavy, and their coat comes in golden red, red wheaten, and wheaten. Irish Terriers are active dogs and need and enjoy consistent mental and physical challenges. They are good with people and are loyal to their owners, but they are often dominant with other dogs and have strong guarding instincts.
