Jair Bolsonaro is the President of Brazil. He was elected in 2018 as a member of the Social Liberal party but cut ties with them a year into his Presidency due to infighting. He is known worldwide for his populist and Far-Right views; he is against homosexuality, abortion and same-sex marriage and has made derogatory comments against women, the LGBTQ community and indigenous peoples of Brazil. He tested positive for COVID-19 in July 2020, after continually denying the severity of the pandemic.
