Joaquin Phoenix is an American actor. He has appeared in several high-grossing films including, Signs (2002), Gladiator (2000), and The Yards (2000). In one of his most significant roles to date, Joaquin took on the role of famed country star, Johnny Cash in the 2005 film, 'Walk the Line' and received an Oscar nomination for his performance. He made a subsequent turn towards more independent, auteur cinema and has been involved in several more creative projects including I’m Still Here (2010), Her (2013) and You Were Never Really Here (2017). In 2019 he won an Academy Award for his conflicted portrayal of DC Comics villain, The Joker.
