Description

Several gymnasts today hold distinguished records in the sport, but the Japanese gymnast Kōhei Uchimura has more than just records. Kōhei won Olympic medals seven times, including three gold and four silver in the all-around, team, and floor exercise plus twenty-one World medals in all-round, floor exercise, team, parallel bars, and horizontal bar. Besides, he is also renowned as the first gymnast of either sex to win all-round titles during a single Olympic cycle (from 2009 to 2016). In the field, he is celebrated for his extraordinary elegance, consistency, and execution of difficult routines. From 2008 to 2016, Uchimura won a medal either in the Olympic Games or the World Championship.
