Description
Description

Lesser Periwinkle, known scientifically as Vinca minor, is a low, evergreen groundcover characterized by fine, trailing stems that move smoothly across the soil surface. Its small, leathery leaves appear at close intervals, forming a continuous layer of foliage that creates a tidy, carpet-like effect. As a groundcover plant, Vinca minor spreads outward in gentle, branching patterns rather than rising into mound-like forms.

The stems root lightly as they travel, helping the plant anchor itself while steadily expanding. The species produces delicate, star-shaped flowers that rise just above the leaf layer, adding subtle color to its soft green surface. In this expression, Vinca minor behaves as a refined ground-hugging vine, offering a smooth, uniform visual texture that works well in shaded or partially sheltered environments.
