American singer and songwriter Loretta Lynn has many awards and accolades. She has also made groundbreaking breakthroughs in country music. Her career in country music spans six decades, and she has done fifty years of road tours. Loretta Lynn has won three Grammy Awards from eighteen nominations. In 1970 she became the only female to take home the ACM Artist of the Decade title. Loretta Lynn has had eleven of her albums and twenty-four hit singles take number one positions. Her music career began in local clubs in 1950. Besides music, she has also done films. Her other awards include seven American Music Awards, eight Country Music Association awards, and the most decorated woman in country music. In 2008, Loretta Lynn was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
