Description

Mario Lemieux is a Canadian-American former ice hockey player whose large size did not stop him from beating opponents with fakes and dekes. He was labeled "Le Magnifique" for being one of the best-gifted players in ice hockey. Mario won the Stanley Cup both as a player and as an owner of his former club, the Pittsburgh Penguins. He is credited with leading Canada to an Olympic gold medal, 2004 World Cup of Hockey Championship, and Canada Cup. He has won the Lester B. Pearson Award four times, the Hart Trophy on three occasions, Art Ross Trophy six times, and a Conn Smythe Trophy. These achievements saw him inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame and Canada's Walk of Fame.
