Mitch McConnell is a Republican politician serving as Kentucky’s Senior State Senator. In 1984, McConnell was first elected to the Senate for the first time; he has since been re-elected five times. McConnell used to be considered as a moderate Republican but has become more Right-wing over the past two decades. During the Obama administration, he blocked several of Obama’s reforms including the introduction of Obamacare.  He has also fought against climate change initiatives and voted against stronger gun laws. He is however, a critic of Donald Trump, and has publicly denounced several of Trump’s actions and behaviours.
