Nicol David is a retired squash player from Malaysia who left a legacy in the sports by holding the number one position for nine consecutive years. She also became an eight-time World Open champion, five-time British Open champion, and the first female and squash player to take home the World Junior title twice. Nicol also won the Asian Squash Championship nine times, World Squash Association (WSA) Player of the Year seven times, and eighty-one titles from Women’s International Squash Players Association (WISPA). She is also a ten-time Hong Kong Open champion, five-time Qatar Classic champion, and eight-time Malaysian Open champion. These successes have made her receive honors and recognition from the Malaysian government.

Squash is a racket sport where two players rally against a wall and attempt to serve a ball fast enough so their opponent cannot return the ball. In each game, one player serves a rubber ball against a wall, and attempts to serve it fast enough to where it bounces twice before being returned.
