Description
Description

The Pekingese, a toy breed distinguishable by its long, flowing hair, flat face, with a signature ”lion’s mane.” It is rumored that the Pekingese was a created when Buddha shrunk down a lion; while an entertaining story, it is more accurate that the Pekingese was created through deliberate breeding within Chinese nobility to make a toy sized breed. Pekingese did not make their Western debut until discovered during a British raid on a Chinese palace during the Opium wars. Today, the Pekingese makes an independent, yet loyal, companion ready to form a tight and affectionate bond with his owner.
