Description

The Portuguese Podengo Pequeno is a hound breed from Portugal. The Podengo has three size categories that are not interbred- small (Pequeno), medium (Medio), and large (Grande). Their coats are either short and smooth or long and wired. The Portuguese Podengo Pequeno has a wedge shaped head, erect ears, and a curved tail. As companion dogs, they are known to be friendly, lively, and hardy, and are good with children and other animals when socialized from an early age. They love being active, and with watchful and observant personalities, they will bark when something catches their attention.
