Description
Description

The Portuguese Sheepdog excels well as a herding dog, even though it doesn’t look like it. The medium-sized dog is native to Portugal and is agile and swift. It usually has long hair (straight or wavy), covering the dense and evenly coat forming a long beard and mustache. The coat can be brown, fawn, yellow, or wolf grey. The body is long and lacks an undercoat, making it work well in extreme weather. This makes the Portuguese Sheepdog possess a simian-like attitude or appearance. The tail is long and never bobbed or docked, while the ears are set high and hanging.
