The dog is small to medium-sized, with a wedge-shaped head, profuse, stand-off coat, and pricked triangular ears. It has expressive, dark brown eyes while the high set tail curls over its back. Around the neck is something like a mane because of the pronounced ruff coming from its double-thick coat.
