They are an excellent breed for watching, guarding, and herding, and they are known to be energetic, fearless, and friendly. Their physical features include a long body, wedge-shaped head, dark brown oval eyes, and pointed ears. The coat is short and rough with a tight topcoat and soft, dense undercoat; the colors can vary from gray, grayish brown, and grayish yellow to reddish brown.
