Upward Bow or Wheel Pose is an intermediate back bend that opens the chest. Upward Bow Pose opens the chest, and strengthens the arms, legs and abdomen. Some preparatory postures to Upward Bow include Cobra Pose, Up-Ward Facing Dog, and Hero Pose. Yogi’s with back or neck issues, heart problems and carpal tunnel use caution.

To do Upward Bow Pose, lie on the floor and bend the knees. Next, place the hands on the mat with the fingers pointing towards the shoulders then lift the toros so everything is off the ground but the hands and feet. Keep lifting the hips and chest and breathe.
