Description
Description

A wood wall vertical 2x header is a construction technique that employs two vertical 2x studs with a plywood spacer sandwiched between them to form a header. This header is placed horizontally at the top of an opening, such as a door or window, in a wood-framed wall. The vertical orientation of the 2x studs, combined with the spacer, creates a thicker, more rigid structure to distribute the load around the opening effectively.

The spacer ensures that the width of the header matches the width of the rest of the wall framing, resulting in a flush surface for easy attachment of sheathing and finishes. The vertical 2x header provides sturdy support while efficiently utilizing materials.
