Microsoft was founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen on April 4, 1975 to convert and sell BASIC, a computer programming language, for the Altair 8800, a personal computer. Microsoft oversees the development, production, licensure, and selling of computer software, social networking services, cloud computing, video games, and personal computers. The company is the third US public company that is valued at more than $1 trillion following Apple and Amazon. Microsoft’s most popular products are the Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Skype, Xbox, LinkedIn, One Drive, and Internet Explorer.
