Pop Stars | Pop Music
A pop star is the word that describes a musician who writes and performs pop music. Pop music emerged in the 1950s in the UK and the US and is often associated with the emergence of youth culture. It often follows a formula; it is typified by a simple rhythm, catchy lyrics, and usually a bright, upbeat tone. Pop music produces the most hit songs, meaning that it is the genre that makes the most money. It is often considered mainstream and as the most popular form of music. There are pop groups like One Direction and Little Mix, and also individual pop stars, like Taylor Swift and Rihanna.
Become a pop star by learning new instruments and songs, practicing singing, and getting yourself noticed locally. Be persistent as transforming into a pop star does not happen overnight. Part of becoming a pop star includes being wholesome, having a unique voice, being a talented dancer, being open to criticism, having confidence, be willing to work hard, and having an appealing look.
The first pop stars emerged in the 1930s and 1940s. These were Bing Crosby who sold millions of records and Frank Sinatra who is considered by many the first modern pop star. They both were from the United States. In Britain, Al Bowlly is considered the first pop star. These first pop stars recorded and performed with orchestras in the music genre that was popular. There were other vocal groups like The Mills Brothers and The Ink Spots who set a precedent for other aspiring artists at the time.
