Description
Description

The American Curl cat, known for its ears that curl back, is a slender, affectionate, gentle cat which can vary in size. Originating in California in the 1980s, the American Curl cat was first discovered when two stray kittens with curled ears appeared on a family’s doorstep. Unassuming about their ears, the family took the kitten in and bred it, thus passing on the dominate genetic mutation. It was only after Nancy Kiester acquired two kittens for their gentle demeanor that she realized it was a new breed entirely. Loved for their personality and appearance, the American Curl is a beloved breed.
