She became known worldwide for her charity work and fashion sense that made her an international icon. Diana, Princess of Wales was the first wife of Charles, Prince of Wales and the mother of Prince William and Prince Harry. Diana, Princess of Wales and Charles, Prince of Wales became engaged and married in 1981. They later divorced in 1996. She was unfortunately criticized by the British media who intruded in her private life. Diana, Princess of Wales tragically died in a car crash in 1997.
