Eames Sofa Compact

Set of dimensioned drawings of the Eames Sofa Compact labeled with height, length, and depth in plan and elevation

The Eames Sofa Compact is inspired by a built-in sofa designed by Charles and Ray Eames in the 1940s. It provides ample seating for three people, making it a good choice in small or large spaces. Chrome steel legs add to the sofa’s modern lines and trim profile, while the plush foam cushions provide comfort. Slender and sleek in appearance, the Eames Sofa Compact was intended to be scaled down for rooms too small for a bulky, traditional sofa but without losing the comfort.

The Eames Sofa Compact has an overall height of 35” (89 cm), length of 72.5” (184 cm), and depth of 32.5” (83 cm). The seat height of the Eames Sofa Compact is set at 16” (41 cm).

A settee, with a smaller and more elegant profile than a sofa, is an upholstered type of seating meant for two to three individuals. With origins dating back to 17th century Europe, the settee originally resembled a chaise lounge chair before smaller arm rests were added on both sides.
