Ellen DeGeneres is a famous talk show host and popular icon in the LGBTQ community best known for her television talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Beginning in stand-up comedy in the early 1980s,  Ellen DeGeneres was part of many successful programs including her own sitcom called Ellen, where she famously came out as a Lesbian during an episode where Oprah Winfrey played her therapist and then later offically came out on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Her coming out to the public paved the way for many women to feel empowered. Ellen has had a successful career that has included her being a host to the Academy Awards, Grammy Awards and Primetime Emmys.
