Elvis Presley is known as ‘The King’. He is a Rock and Roll superstar and is considered one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. In 1956 he released his debut single Heartbreak Hotel which went straight to number One. Subsequent hits include Jailhouse Rock, Always On My Mind, and Love Me Tender. Elvis’ performance style has become iconic: he is known for his slurred singing voice, flared jumpsuits and his gyrating dance moves. Elvis died in 1977. His Tennessee mansion, Graceland, is the second most visited home in the US after the White House.
