Jonah Lomu

Set of illustrations of Jonah Lomu in various rugby poses measured with overall height

Jonah Lomu was New Zealand's man when they needed more power upfront because of his size, strength, speed, and ability to get out of his wing and subtle body swerve. Lomu was a rugby union player who made his first international debut in the 1994 Hong Kong Sevens, becoming the youngest player in the All Blacks squad. He was a superstar of rugby with an enormous impact on the game. Lomu played on the wing and completed his international career, having garnered thirty-seven tries and sixty-three caps. These achievements granted him admission into the International Rugby Hall of Fame and International Rugby Board (IRB) Hall of Fame.

Rugby is an intensely physical team sport where players attempt to run, throw, or kick a ball to the opposing teams side. First played in early 19th century England, each game is played by two teams of 15 players who attempt to pass or kick a ball laterally or backwards without being tackled.
