Description
Description

The black and tan color of the Slovenský Kopov may make you think it is the American Black and Tan Coonhound. However, it is not as it is rather robust and shorter than the latter. The medium-sized dog is a scenthound type of dog that loves to hunt, especially boar. It is native to Slovakia. The dog is well-muscular, long-bodied, with sturdy limbs. The ears are floppy and dropped, the tail long and curved at the tips, and the athletic body is covered in a short, coarse black coat. It has almond-shaped dark brown eyes giving it a lively and courageous look. The dog is strong-willed and independent. Hence, early training is needed to enable it to easily socialize with people.
