A Volleyball Set is usually the second contact that a team makes with the ball. A Set should put the ball in the air in a way that the attacker can drive the ball into the opponent’s court. The Setter coordinates the offensive movements of the team, and they are the player who determines which other player will attack the ball. With a Set, the player needs to be careful to touch the ball with both hands at the same time; failure to do so results in a less effective Set, as well as the referee called a ‘double hit’, giving the point to the opposing team.
