Womb Chair & Ottoman

Dimensions of the Womb Chair and Ottoman drawn from the side elevation, back, front, and plan

The Womb Chair and Ottoman are an expressive lounge set designed as a furniture pair that one would naturally want to curl up in. Designed by Eero Saarinen in 1946, the Womb Chair’s iconic sculptural form is made with a reinforced fiberglass shell wrapped in foam and covered in a fabric or leather upholstery.

The Womb Chair measures 40” (101.6 cm) wide, 34” (86.4 cm) deep, with a back height of 35.5” (90.2 cm), and a seat height of 16” (40.6 cm). The accompanying ottoman has a width of 21” (53.3 cm), depth of 17.5” (44.5 cm) and height of 14.25” (36.2 cm).
