The Green Tree Python (Morelia Viridis) may be confused with the Emerald tree boa because of the way they display similar position when resting on a tree, however, Green tree pythons belong to the family Pythonidae, are nocturnal hunters with acute sight and may use labial or pits or caudal luring to attract prey unlike the former. They also lay and incubate their eggs. The Green tree python is an arboreal dwelling snake and native to the islands of New Guinea and those of Indonesia usually with a bright green, slim body, long tail, large well-defined head, large and angular snout with females being heavier than males. They prefer rainforests, shrubs, trees, and bushes.
