Description

The Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) is a large long-winged hawk that lives along seacoasts to catch fish, nesting in nearly every continent except for Australia and Antarctica. Also known as the fish hawk, sea hawk, or river hawk, the osprey hovers above the water in search of fish and captures its prey with its large, sharp talons. The osprey has brown upperparts, white undersides, a black bill, and white feet with black talons.
