Platner Coffee Table

Pair of dimensioned drawings of the Platner Coffee Table showing diameter and height in plan and elevation views

The Platner Coffee Table, which needs as many as 1,000 welds and is made out of wire, illustrates Warren Platner's views that there is a scope in modernism for the type of elegant and graceful architecture. The table is enclosed by a clear plastic extrusion ring surrounded by the base for protection.

The Platner Coffee Table has an overall height of 15.25” (39 cm) and diameter of 36” (91 cm).

Coffee tables, also known as accent tables, are a style of low table designed to be paired with sofas. Typically used in living rooms, reception areas, and sitting rooms, coffee tables are used to hold books, magazines, drinks, small plants, and other decorative items.
