Elevation and plan drawings of the Reid 86" Sofa measuring heights, width and depth

A product of a collaboration between designers Jeffrey Bernett and Nicholas Dodziuk, the Reid 86” Sofa is the highlight of Design Within Reach’s 2007 Reid Collection. With comfort that would adapt to and accommodate a variety of activities, the down and feather-wrapped foam filling of the cushions were made for lounging. The Reid 86” Sofa’s deeply set seats and wide armrests are supported by a kiln-dried, corner-blocked, double-doweled composite hardwood frame with a Pirelli webbing back and seat suspension.

Available in a range of leather and fabric upholsteries, this contemporary design comes in a choice of 1” or 4” leg height, allowing it to further adapt to a range of lifestyles.

The Reid 86" Sofa has an overall height of either 29” or 32” (74 or 81 cm), length of 86” (218 cm), and depth of 39” (99 cm). The Reid 86" Sofa has a seat height set at either 16” or 19” (41 or 48 cm) and an arm height of 23” or 26” (58 or 66 cm).

Sofas, also known as couches or settees, are furniture pieces used for seating two or more people. Unlike benches, sofas are typically designed with upholstered cushions, seat backs, and armrests. Sofas are often the signature piece of a living room, lounge, lobby, office, hotel, or bar.
