Description
Description

The Slovakian Wirehaired Pointer came from crossbreeding the Český Fousek, German Wirehaired Pointer, and Weimaraner. The aim was to create an extremely modern, well-rounded gundog. As the name suggests, it originates from Slovakia and may be called the Slovak Wirehaired Pointing Dog, the Slovak Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, or the Slovak Pointing Griffon, with the Bulgarian Hound being its closest relative. The dog is sturdy with a broad, rectangular-shaped head, strong shoulders, straight clean legs, and a straight strong back showing lots of muscles. The coat should be rough, having harsh, wiry hair and whiskers and grey and grey roan being the only permitted colors. The long broad rounded ears are set just above eye level while the tail is docked to half-length.
