Ten-Pin Bowling Pin

Dimensioned elevation drawings of a Ten-Pin Bowling Pin measured with height and diameters

The Ten-Pin Bowling Pin is the type of pin used in Ten-Pin Bowling and serves as the target of the bowling ball in a game. A standard Ten-Pin Bowling Pin is wider at its base and narrows towards the top. Every Ten-Pin Bowling Pin is allowed 2 voids at its widest area to balance the narrow top of the pin. The inner void affects the center of gravity and tipping point of the pin. A Ten-Pin Bowling Pin can be made of wood or plastic materials. The standards of the Ten-Pin Bowling Pin are set by the United States Bowling Congress.

Ten-Pin Bowling Pins have an overall diameter of 4.75” (121 mm), base diameter of 2.03” (51.6 mm), and overall height of 15” (38 cm). The mass of a Ten-Pin Bowling Pin is regulated at between 3.3-3.5 lb (1.5-1.6 kg).
