Description

The Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) is a viverrid that lives in primarily forests, but they can also occur at lower densities in secondary and selectively logged forests; they occupy much of southeast Asia. The Asian Palm Civet’s body is long and stocky and covered with coarse and shaggy hair. There is a white mask across the forehead, a small white patch under each eye, and a white spot on each side of the nostrils. The muzzle, ears, lower legs, and distal half of the tail are black. The Asian Palm Civet is an omnivore, and it feeds on mostly pulpy fruits and berries.
