The Samsung Galaxy S9, also known by its secret moniker “Star” is a member of the Galaxy S Series and follows the Galaxy S8. The Samsung Galaxy S9 was released on February 25th, 2018 at the Mobile World Congress hosted in Barcelona, Spain. The Samsung Galaxy S9 features “Intelligent Scan” a combined unlocking method that utilizes facial recognition and iris scanning, a single camera, and is offered in seven colors. An improvement from previous Samsung smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S9 has a relocated fingerprint scanner for easier access, ability to record 4K video, AR Emoji, similar to Apple’s Animoji, giving user’s the ability to create emoji’s that resemble themselves, and improved physical durability.
