Samsung is a South Korean conglomerate company that is known as one of the world’s top electronic device producers. Its headquarters are located in Samsung Town, Seoul in South Korea. Samsung was founded in 1938 by Lee Byung-chul as a trading company. Samsung has impacted South Korea’s economic development, politics, media and culture by offering products and services in construction, consumer electronics, financial services, shipbuilding and healthcare. The company’s major clients include the Royal Dutch Shell, the United Arab Emirates government, and Ontario’s government. Samsung’s line of products includes appliances, digital media devices, semiconductors, batteries, memory chips, and integrated systems. The company’s best-selling smartphone is the Galaxy X4 and its top selling mobile phone is E1100.
Samsung's featured Galaxy lineup is a family of mobile devices designed and developed by Samsung Electronics. The first Samsung Galaxy smartphone released in 2009 was the Samsung GT-17500 which featured an Android OS. This release placed Samsung in the smartphone market and in competition with Apple. The Samsung Galaxy line of products offers something for every user and every budget. Samsung Galaxy devices typically use the Android operating system with the One UI interface. The Samsung Galaxy product line includes the Samsung Galaxy S series, the Samsung Galaxy Tab series, the Samsung Galaxy Note series, and line of smartwatches. Samsung was originally founded as a grocery trading store on March 1, 1938. Samsung was founded by Lee Byung-Chull and as the years passed Samsung expanded into exporting more materials. Samsung first entered the electronics industry in 1969 starting with various electronic divisions and one of their first products was a black and white television.
Samsung’s most popular products today include the line of devices within the Samsung Galaxy series. Samsung has become a global leader in the consumer electronics industry and is mostly known for its smartphones as well as its LCD televisions that have impacted the global market. Samsung is also known for producing semiconductors.
