The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1”, is a member of the midrange Galaxy Tab A Series of tablets as the successor to the Galaxy Tab A 8” and Galaxy Tab A 9.7.” The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1” was introduced on May 2016. Later, in September 2016, a version of the Galaxy Tab A 10.1” was released with the new S pen, while the original model does not include the S pen.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow while its predecessors originally ran Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. The Galaxy Tab A devices are the first Tab devices to come preloaded with free versions of Microsoft Office.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1” has a height of 9.65” (245.2 mm), width of 5.88” (149.4 mm), depth of .3” (7.5 mm), and weighs 1.03 lb (469 g). The screen size is 10.1” (256.5 mm) diagonal with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 px at 224 ppi.
