Description

The Blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra) favors areas with constant water, so you will mostly find it in grassy plains of a forest in India and Nepal. Some communities call it the Indian antelope. Males and females have horns. However, those of males are well-developed. Males are also easily separated from females and juveniles by their two-toned coloration composed of white underparts and dark brown or dark upperparts while the latter has fur that is yellowish fawn to tan. Males are also heavier than females. The blackbuck is diurnal, can be a browser or grazer, and form male, female, and bachelor herds.
