Description
Description

You can see the Blue Wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus) in most countries south of the Sahara, such as Kenya, Tanzania, Namibia, and even Zimbabwe. These are in open woodlands, savannah, and plains. It is also called common wildebeest, brindled gnu, white-bearded gnu, or white-bearded wildebeest. It is relatively large and a fast runner feeding primarily on grass. The front part has a heavy appearance because of the broad shoulders and robust muzzle. Adults have bluish-gray, light-gray, or grayish-brown coats while juveniles have tawny brown coats. Males and females have large curved horns. These territorial and gregarious animals use vocal, visual, and scent glands to communicate.
