Description

An important feature of the Common Tsessebe (Damaliscus lunatus lunatus) is that it is a fast runner. You can find it in South Africa, Angola, Namibia, and even Botswana. These are in open plains or woodland savannahs. Some communities call it sassaby. These animals are social, existing in bulls, females, and bachelor herds. Besides, they are territorial. The common tsessebe grazes on fresh grass and even leaves. Physically, it is large and possesses long, sturdy horns. The body coat is chestnut brown with white or purple markings on the belly.
