Description
Description

The Dorcas Gazelle (Gazella dorcas) inhabits the semi-desert regions of Africa. This is mostly in the savannahs and small dune fields. It is a small gazelle and sometimes called ariel gazelle. Its horns are strong and curved while the ears are longer. Coat color varies depending on location. Species in the Sahara regions have pale-colored coats with white underbellies while those north of Sahara are ochre. Because of the region it exists, it can go for days without water, and withstand high temperatures. These gazelles are mostly browsers and nocturnal. You can find them in pairs or social groupings led by a dominant male.
