Snake Plants

Assortment of Snake Plants in pots with dimensions for average height and a cat for scale

Snake Plants, also known as mother-in-law's tongue, are densely packed evergreen plants with stiff vertical leaves. Architecturally shaped, snake plants are popular indoor houseplants due to their low-effort maintenance, pronounced graphic character, and air purifying characteristics that help combat ‘sick building syndrome.’

Indoor snake plants typically grow to heights between 2’-4’ (.6-1.2 m), though it is not uncommon to have snake plants grow upwards of 6’-8’ (1.8-2.4 m). The leaves of snake plants vary between species, but most have dark green leaves with yellow-green banding and widths of 2”-2.5” (5–6 cm).
