Pop Culture, or popular culture, refers to the recognized and shared social references across diverse societies and often includes a broad range of movies, music, television, games, cartoons, sports, news, politics, and fashion. Looking at a large variety of subjects and sources that includes everything from fictional characters to current events, these pop culture resources are created to further share data about the popular trends of our time. This is often associated with the rise of mass consumerism. Pop culture is often viewed as trivial, or mainstream. But it is actually a lot of fun. The following collections have been created for you as a survey of the various characters, heroes, villains, celebrities, and topics that are shared around the world. These resources will be constantly expanded over time in an effort to further illustrate and document the many topics and issues related to Pop Culture.
Elizabeth Diller is one of the world’s leading architects. She cofounded Diller Scofidio +Renfro in 1979 and is mostly known for her designs of cultural spaces. Her work includes the High Line and the new MoMa expansion in New York, The Broad Museum in Los Angeles, the ICA in Boston.
