Snoop Dogg is an American rapper. He was born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, in California in 1971, and began rapping in high school. He took on the name Snoop Doggy Dogg when he began his recording career. His first solo album, Doggystyle, was produced by Dr. Dre and became an instant critical and commercial success. It featured the songs, Gin & Juice and Who Am I (What’s My Name?). In 2012, Snoop announced his new association with rastafarianism, and released a reggae album under the name Snoop Lion. In 2019, he released his seventeenth solo album. He is considered one of the most influential rappers of all time.
