Marvel Comics is an American comic book publisher known for its vast library of superheroes and supervillains. Founded in 1961 by Martin Goodman and eventually growing into the vast media company Marvel Entertainment, which was purchased by the Walt Disney Company in 2009, Marvel characters appear in popular culture through their original comic book format, but also movies, television shows, cartoons, and toys. The Marvel roster of superheroes was primarily created by Steve Ditko, Stan Lee, and Jack Kirby. Marvel Comics occur within the Marvel Universe which places the major characters within the contexts of existing places and cities around the world.

He was the librarian at Kamar-Taj, where he taught Doctor Strange to wield his sorcery, before moving to New York to protect the New York Sanctum. Doctor Stephen Strange is a fictional surgeon-turned-superhero and the Sorcerer Supreme in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, most notably the movie Doctor Strange, and Marvel Comics. After a car accident injured his hands and ended his career as a surgeon, he drained his fortune trying to cure his hands. Increasingly desperate, he eventually ended up in Nepal, where he learned sorcery. His powers include casting spells to create shields and disable his enemies, and astral projection. With the Time Stone, he can also alter time. The original comics were known for their uniquely surrealist art, sometimes compared to psychedelic hallucinations.

Shuri is a fictional princess, inventor, and genius in Black Panther and the extended Marvel franchise. T’Challa’s younger sister, she is the inventor of his Black Panther suit. As the chief science officer of Wakanda, she is responsible for the creation of much of Wakanda’s advanced technologies, including the remote-driven car that helps T’Challa in South Korea.
