Superman, also known as Clark Kent (adoptive name) or Kal-El (birth name), is a fictional Kryptonian superhero in the DC Comics universe. He was played by Henry Cavill in the 2013 film Man of Steel and the subsequent series. As in prior adaptations, Henry Cavill’s Superman has invincibility, heat vision, flight, super strength, invincibility, freeze breath, x-ray vision, super hearing, and a weakness to Kryptonite.

Whereas earlier versions focus on Superman as a human with superpowers, Man of Steel dives into Clark Kent’s Kryptonian past, with Zod, a friend of his birth father, as the main villain.
