Dementors are large, floating, featureless beings that have no eyes and instead use their ‘mouth’ to sense those around them. Dementors are dark creatures. They feed on human emotions and suck every good feeling from nearby people. Get too close to a Dementor, and you will only remember the most terrible things that have happened to you.

Dementors can administer the Dementor’s ‘kiss’ and suck out a person’s soul, leaving them in a vegetative state for the rest of their life. A Patronus charm is one of the only spells effective at keeping Dementors at bay.
