Leta Lestrange is a British witch born into the old wizarding family, the Lestranges.  She was a melancholic and difficult child, traumatized by her cruel father and perennially guilty for thinking she unintentionally killed her younger brother, Corvus Lestrange. She was bullied at school but found solace in her close friendship with Newt Scamander.

As an adult, she began working for the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and became engaged to Newt’s older brother, Theseus Scamander. She died when fighting Gellert Grindelwald, sacrificing herself to save the men she loved.
