The PlayStation 2 is a home video gaming console developed by Sony. It was first released in 2000. The PlayStation 2 is the successor to the original PlayStation improving both graphics and storage media and is the competitor to Sega’s Dreamcast, Nintendo’s GameCube, and Microsoft’s Xbox. The PlayStation 2 features the ability to play high-end video games, DVD playback, USB support, is lightweight, and has a vibration function on its controllers. The PlayStation 2 was released as a follow up to the PlayStation due to its great success among all audience demographics. The PlayStation 2 was discontinued in March 2012.
