The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8”, is a member of the midrange Galaxy Tab A Series of tablets as the flagship model of the cross between the Galaxy A phones and the Tab devices. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8” was introduced on March 2015 at the same time as the slightly larger Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7".

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8” originally ran Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, but can be upgraded all the way to Android 9.0 Pie. The Galaxy Tab A devices are the first Tab devices to come preloaded with free versions of Microsoft Office.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8” has a height of 8.27” (210 mm), width of 4.9” (124.4 mm), depth of .31" (8 mm), and weighs 12.24 oz (347 g). The screen size is 8” (203.2 mm) diagonal with a resolution of 1280 x 800 px at 189 ppi.
